Hanging Gardens
by Teny Nudson |
|
"Stained glass blossoms for year-round color - prefer full sun, no water required!" With 17 adorable
and vibrant arrangements to choose from, these projects are a wonderful variation from the standard
stained glass panel.
- One note: the patterns are designed to be wrapped with small u-channel lead also
known as hobby came. However, I found that copper foil and a good rounded edge bead also works - it just
takes a bit more time, and you end up with a slightly different look.
Patterns Include:
African Violet, Cyclamen, Begonia, Prickly Pear, Azalea, Fuchsia, Pansy, Petunia, Geranium, Gloxinia,
Impatiens, Wandering Jew, Philodendron, Phalaenopsis Orchid, English Ivy, Strawberry Plant, Spider

The Next Book
by The Artists of Glassmith Studios |
|
Jam packed with exquisitely drawn patterns, this book is a must...well, ok, a must for me at least.
Anyway, in this book, you'll find patterns which generally follow a nature theme, many of which are
incorporated into artistic, almost contemporary-ish backgrounds. What's great, is many of the patterns
have been designed to incorporate the numerous GST Bevel Clusters
available, so you can go super fancy if you want to. For such a wonderfully huge selection of patterns,
I feel I should be saying more, but, for risk of becoming redundant (and annoying), lets move on to
the patterns...
Patterns Include:
The Trellis, Bellflowers, Paradise, Eye of the Storm, Whale and Calf, Dolphins, The Wine Cellar,
Peacock, Hummingbird, Bevel Leaf Transom, Sirocco, Callalily, Harvest Moon, Grain Elevator, Heron
and Sidelights, Sheltering Songbirds, Morning Songbird, Bellflower and Garden Leaves, Bellflower,
Deer Arch, Peaceful Night, Deer Panel, Courting Songbirds, Bordered Signature, Light House Sailing,
Harbored, Windy Sails, Damselfly Panel, Resting Damselfly, Donna's French Doors, Stephanie's Stairwell
Garden, Dave's Pantry Entry, Don's Entrance, Wild Rose Bush, Flight of the Butterfly Panel Lamp,
Damselfly Panel Lamp, Moonlit Bellflower, Jack's Garden Doors, The Iron Gates, Bird of Elegance,

The Stained Glass Garden
- Projects and Patterns
by George W. Shannon and Pat Torlen |
|
This book is full of clever and colorful creations for the garden. Each pattern in this book is an
actual project with instructions and color photos. What makes these projects extra clever, is that the
authors also incorporate glass nuggets, vase caps, copper sheets, wire, pipe and tubing, into the pieces
creating very whimsical and fun art. Half of the projects are copper foil construction and half are done
with the lead came method. This book also contains very detailed beginner glass instruction, covering
everything from types of glass all the way through to repair. However, one thing I think worth mentioning,
is that I found a few of the projects to be quite a challenge to put together. Still a very inspiring
and creative book!
Projects Include:
• Panels - Spring Tulip, Sparkling Butterfly, Autumn Leaves, Butterfly garden, Dreamweaver
• Garden Stakes (some jiggle!) - Angelica, Bizzy Bee, LazyBug, Luna Moth
• Candle Holders/Lanterns - Starry Night, Summer Breeze, Green Leaf, Pansy
• Torchieres - Tulip, Water Lily
• Candelabras - Tiger Lily Trio, Daisy Bouquet
• Sprinklers - Blue Heron, Pelican, Snowy Egret
• Everything Else - Zen Sand Garden, Blue Diamond Hanging Planter, Pelican Pete Hanging Mobile,

This has been a great book for me! Inside, you will find a detailed, step-by-step project for each

are a lot of them. What's great, is that even though I had already done a few pieces by the time I got
this book, I found that the detailed instructions outlining each step really helped me improve, and
filled in some technique "gaps" that other instructional books had left behind.

390 Traditional Stained Glass Designs
by Hywel G. Harris |
|
From the back cover..."Prompted by a desire to preserve authentic specimens of domestic stained glass
designs - rapidly disappearing in postwar England because of destruction, adulteration and neglect - the
author photographed a multitude of windows, transoms, sidelights and other stained glass elements in
houses constructed between 1890 and 1920. The designs in this practical compendium have been directly
rendered from these photographs and presented in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Included are lovely
floral and foliate motifs, a remarkable array of geometrics, transitional designs showing the influence
of Art Nouveau and more."
Pattern Categories Include:
